We had a truly amazing week in Krysta’s house. Everything was PERFECT. We have been greeted with a lovely basket full of local delicacies. The house is stunning, traditional but with a modern flair and so confortable. The views and scenery are poetic and inspiring. We also loved the beaches on the East side of Kea, they can be hard to access but are worth the journey. Finally, the hosts were incredibly helpful and hospitable. In short, just book you won’t regret it !

It may be off the beaten track but not more than a stroll that is down the ancient footpaths and like you are stepping into it's own magical world. The house is beyond special and beautifully styled and every detail thought out. The view is breath taking, the slightly cooler nights up high were a blessing and we beach hopped and explore the island, always returning to this very special place. Our boys climbed trees and loved exploring and getting water from the source. The closest beach we found was Orkos, which is well worth the twisting road. Sykamia beach was our favorite. Alexis had fresh produce delivered to our door by the local farmer which was as appreciated as all the welcoming details on our arrival. The kitchen is wonderful for cooking and there is a dishwasher. This is a haven we highly recommend.

I almost don't want to write a review because this place is such a gem. We stayed for a week on this gorgeous island, in this remarkable house and couldn't have been happier! The house is literally off the beaten tracks (you need to hike there, but we saw it as a free daily fitness program) in the hills overlooking the valley and ocean. Only sheep and cicadas keep you company here. It was heavenly. No cars, no people, no internet, nothing. The kitchen has everything, so we cooked a lot. Kea is beautiful and untouched and strangely not very touristy at all - which is exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic beaches (rent a jeep!) and crystal clear water. And did I tell you about the hosts? W-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l people! We met both Krysta and Alexis and immediately connected. They got us a welcome basket with tasty local foods, artisan soap and even two Yoga mats! Long story short: if you want to get away from it all, this is the place to be. But don't tell anyone, okay? :)

Kea is a very special island and the farmhouse is perfect for taking advantage of its stunning beaches and hikes. In June, the beaches (Sikamia, Psathí, Orkos, Tēlégraphos, Spathi) that run up the eastern edge of island were nearly empty, like the ancient footpaths that lead to the ruins at Karthaía (a place I will never forget) or the ancient lion from the village of Ioulida. You definitely need a car. A 4x4 is ideal, especially for reaching remote beaches (which you definitely want to do!) and archeological sites. Krysta and Alex were exemplary hosts with quick communication and helpful suggestions. We were greeted with warm conversation, fresh produce from a local farm and bottle of wine. The house is unique with a broad stone terrace overlooking the hills and ocean. You access via foothpath (there's a generous network of cobblestone pathways on the island that weave through its small villages and vegetation (think wild orchids, sage, chestnut trees, daucus carota) and terminate at remote beaches and churches). With our three children, we stayed for 10 days in this very special place. If you like it simple but beautiful we can really recommend it. We loved the quietness and the view. There was always a fresh breeze and there is enough shadow around the house. The island is perfect for walking. It has beautiful beaches and ancients sights. Krysta is a caring host. We hope to come back.
